The Importance Of Early Years’ Education

It’s been well documented over the years that early years’ education can play a key role in closing the gap between the outcomes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and other children. Especially when the quality of care is high.

At ALC, we strive to ensure our children and young people benefit from all life’s chances and opportunities – regardless of their background or circumstance - and know first-hand how the likes of group sizes, staff to child ratios, staff continuity, and training and development all play a part in ensuring we deliver an exceptional level of support.

During a child’s formative years, they will undergo significant cognitive, emotional and social growth, and so we want to make sure we can provide them with a structured environment, where they can develop critical skills such as language, numeracy and problem-solving.

Early education also fosters social skills by teaching children how to interact with peers, share, and cooperate, all of which is essential for building relationships and functioning out in society. It can also identify and address developmental delays or special needs, allowing for timely intervention and support; this proactive approach can significantly improve outcomes for children who might otherwise struggle without early assistance.

Our staff, many of whom have been with us for decades, are highly experienced and work hard to provide our pre-school children with safe, fun and educational spaces, where they feel supported, inspired and encouraged.

We want our children to feel valued, with a real sense of belonging and self-worth and we work hard to create a vibrant and supportive environment for them.

At the end of the day, they are our future, and education has, without a doubt, a key part to play in shaping a better, more inclusive world for generations to come.
