Angie Johnston
Charity Manager
Angie is our charity manager and is responsible for leading the team, while also building relationships with our external stakeholders. She is committed to ALC developing a wide range of learning and development opportunities and, having worked with us for 33 years, there’s very little she doesn’t know about the organisation.

Wendy Smith
Administrator
Wendy has worked for ALC for more than 36 years, having initially supported our junior and senior youth clubs, before taking on the role of administrator 29 years ago. She is from Tillydrone and attended ALC as a teenager. She even remembers the Dill Road hub being built!

Jennifer Walker
Lead Practitioner
Our Dill Road nursery and after school club lead, Jennifer, is no stranger to ALC. She’s another former ‘Ladser’ and even did our work experience with us back in secondary school. She has more than 10 years’ early years’ experience and is currently working towards gaining a BA Childhood Practice degree.

Shelley Page
Lead Practitioner
Shelley has been with ALC for 22 years, both as staff member and as a volunteer, taking a career break for a few years in between to raise her twin boys. She is the lead practitioner at our Little Learners nursery, based in the Tillydrone Community Campus.

Gary Dalrymple
Youth Development Officer
Gary is the newest addition to our team having joined ALC at the end of 2024. His role is all about growing and developing our youth provision, while helping bring about positive and impactful change. Gary has a MA in Museum Studies and previously taught at various overseas schools, as well as at a residential school in Aberdeenshire.

David Wood
Practitioner
David volunteered with us for six months, before joining the team in 2006. He has been with us ever since. With qualifications in childcare, learning and development and playwork, he carries out a number of roles, including early years practitioner, after school club practitioner, and junior youth club supervisor.

Katrina MacKay
Practitioner
Katrina been with us for 11 years and during that time has worked in both the Dill Road Nursery and our junior youth club. She has a background in early years support but, despite now working solely in the nursery, she enjoys working with children and young people of all ages.

Julie Garden
Practitioner
Julie has more than 20 years’ experience working in early years education and has been with us for more than 12 years. She started as one of our volunteers, before taking on the role of a relief worked and then as a nursery practitioner.

Lucy Hutchison
Practitioner
Lucy is a relatively new member of the team, having joined us in early 2024. However, she’s no stranger to ALC having been a member when she was younger. An early years practitioner, she works primarily in our Little Learners Nursery.

Sarah Reekie
Practitioner
Sarah has been with ALC for three years and is one of the early years’ practitioners in our Little Learners Nursery, as well as a youth worker in our after-school club. She has an HNC in Childhood Practice and an HND in Hospitality Management.

Rebekah Moffat-Wood
Practitioner
Rebekah is one of our youth workers and spends her time working in both our after-school club and our junior youth club. She has been with ALC for five years and, as well as working for us, has also won an award for her volunteering work with VSA’s Children & Families Contact Centre.

Megan Laing
Nursery Cook
Megan is our Dill Road Nursery cook and is responsible for making sure that our early years’ service meets the dietary requirements of all the children in our care. She is another ‘Ladser’ who attended the club as a child. Megan is well-known for her delicious soups!

Carol McCamlie
Nursery Cook
Carol is our Little Learners Nursery cook and has more than 11 years’ experience preparing meals for children, seven of those being with ALC. She is a fantastic baker and loves nothing more than making treats with the youngsters.

Jane Davidson
Support Worker
Jane has been a member of the team for more than 30 years, after having discovered us when her son attended our nursery. She started with us as a parent volunteer, before joining or staff on a permanent basis. All her children and grandchildren have attended ALC.

Charlene Smith
Support Worker
Charlene is one of the support workers in our Little Learners Nursery, having joined us in late 2024 after working as a health care assistant. However, despite only joining us relatively recently, she does know us well, as her family have also attended the club.

Sarah-Jane Struthers
Support Worker
Sarah-Jane is one of our nursery support workers, working with our team of early years practitioners. She has worked with us for four years and has a real passion for early years education.

Lynne Gibbs
Cleaner
Lynne is another longstanding team member, having worked for ALC for 22 years. All four of her children attended our youth club and afterschool club. Her long-standing commitment and personal connection make her an invaluable part of the organisation.
